Streamlining Your Procurement with STARS II

The 8(a) STARS II Government-Wide Acquisition Contract (GWAC) allows agencies to take advantage of a wide variety of IT solutions, ranging from basic help desk support to complex system and software engineering. Here are some advantages of using STARS II to meet your IT requirements:

$10B program ceiling and five-year base period with one five-year option period for long-term planning and continuity of service on large-scale requirements

Directed task orders of up to $4M to fill simpler requirements quickly and easily

Fixed price, labor hour, or time and material contract terms to best match the requirement

Contracts permit other direct costs to facilitate integrated IT solutions

Agencies earn 8(a) Small Business Credit without the risk of hiring a “Mom-and-Pop” business that may not be able to fulfill the program requirements

Pre-competed GSA contract ensures compliance, minimizes protest risk, and reduces procurement lead time

Prior to issuing orders under STARS II, federal contracting officers are required to receive training on the use of the contract vehicle. Training is offered at no cost via web, telephone, or on-site events. For training, contact the GSA Small Business GWAC Center at S2@GSA.gov. For more information about the contract vehicle, please visit www.gsa.gov/8astars2.
